Where To Have Soft Serve Ice Cream In PJ? #SpicyEats

1. P.S.Tokyo @ SS2

Last weekend, I decided to pop by PSTokyo for dessert. At 9pm, the place was swarmed with people, all wanting to have a taste of the much talked about new ice cream parlour in town. Did it live up to its hype?

Oh yes it did.

I sampled the Signature Green Tea (Rm9.90) and Roasted Green Tea (Rm9.90) flavors, both had - fantastic textures and nicely balanced sweetness and flavors.

The main inconvenience however, would be the extremely underutilized space. Seating arrangements were far apart from each other and they could really do with more tables.

Verdict: Amazing soft serve textures and flavors - one of the best I've had. Must try the Matcha and Hojicha flavors. Mini size priced at Rm6.90. Popcorn toppings are free for all regular sized orders for the time being.

Address: 80, Jalan SS 2/60, SS 2, 47300 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Location: Same row as CIMB Bank. Facing Island Cafe, which is on the same stretch as McDonalds.

Opening Hours: 12pm - 12am Daily. Closed Monday.

2. Hail's Soft Serve @ Damansara Uptown

"We have two flavors - pink peppercorn and black sesame. In a cup or cone?  Any toppings with it?"

The poor girl behind the counter had to repeat that statement over and over again to every single customer that walked in. There was no menu, just enlarged pictures on the board without prices. Please do everyone a favor by printing a temporary one.

After the hassle, I eagerly savored my Pink Peppercorn (Rm8.90) and Black Sesame (Rm9.50) soft serve.

To be honest, I don't quite know how a bare pink peppercorn taste like, except that it's a type of dried berry. For me, the ice cream felt like light vanilla topped with sprinkles of salt. I wasn't a fan. Personal preference aside, I thought there're plenty of room to improve in terms of texture also.

Notwithstanding, the interior was gorgeous - adorned in baby blue and white. Indoor clouds too!

Verdict: Wait it out. Come back in a few months time. Try the Pink Peppercorn flavor only if you're a fan of savory ice creams.

Address: 28, Jalan SS21/58, Damansara Uptown, 47400 Petaling Jaya.
Location: Same row as Baskin Robbins, Auntie Sim and MACE.
Opening Hours: 11.30am - 11.30pm. Daily.

3. Every Sundae by Cielo Dolci @ Damansara Uptown

For the past 6 months, I have been visiting Every Sundae recurringly, if not at least 2 to 3 times if memory recalls me right. You can read my previous write up of this ice cream parlour Here

Everytime I visit - I gave something new a go. I tried different flavors, from the soft serve to the gelato, and a handful of toppings and sauces.

Verdict: Plenty of interesting flavors and I get to mix and match here! Order the soft serve, giant choux and cotton candy combination. Price range from Rm10 - Rm20. If you're looking for variety, this place would be perfect for you - one of my favorites in town.

Address: No 9, SS21/37, Damansara Utama, 47400 Petaling Jaya.
Location: Same row as Village Park Nasi Lemak, Ecole P and The Culture Pot.

4. Softsrve @ Damansara Uptown

I'm not going to dwell much on Softsrve either since I've also written about it before. Read my writeup on the Top 5 New Dessert Places In Damansara Uptown Here.

Now, I've heard plenty of things about the place - some loved it; most noted otherwise. In fact, I have to be honest here, I didn't particularly fancy Softsrve in the very beginning. However, after collectively visiting a handful of ice cream parlours of late - I've changed my mind. Softsrve's vanilla ice cream was still one of the more pleasant ones I've had, both in terms of consistency and texture, and the toppings that comes with it are well thought of.

Verdict: Pretty good vanilla soft serve. I heard their churros are worthy of trying too. Apart from Softsrve, Bean Reserve Bangsar also does something similar but with way lesser variety.

Address: No 31, SS21/1A, Damansara Utama, 47400 Petaling Jaya.
Location: Same row as Wondermilk, The Good BatchFrisson CafeFat Spoon Cafe.
Opening Hours: 2pm - 11pm Daily. Closed Monday.
