Palazzo Viva Italian Restaurant @ Bangsar KL - Mediocre

eggs royale

Looks like my sixth sense for good food is going on a bumpy ride lately.

Palazzo Viva

It was peak lunch hour on a lovely Saturday afternoon when I scrolled along the streets of Telawi - to Palazzo Viva of course.

My first thought upon stumbling into Palazzo Viva was gosh, this is some swanky-looking restaurant to have brunch at. I'm sure you wouldn't miss the glorious dessert bar also, lined with rows-and-rows of colorfully decorated dainty desserts.

Breakfast promotion was from 9am to 11.30am. Too short a time frame if you'd ask me.

This - was such a huge turn off for me. The desserts looked like it was gathering moisture. Please get the temperature tweaked. I decided to skip dessert this time round.

Palazzo's Big Breakfast. Rm27.

Easily one of the most appealing big breakfast I've had in awhile, merely looking at it makes me happy. The condiments that came with it were pleasant, apart from the yogurt parfait, which tasted too tangy for my liking.

Eggs Royale. Rm26.

Nice to look at - perhaps, but the bread was stale. The saddest thing however was the eggs - it didn't poach, both of it. I should've send it back. The thick cuts of smoked salmon were delicious nevertheless.

Overall Rating: 6/10. For me, it seems as though they focused a bit too much on presentation rather than taste - nice to look at but mediocre taste wise. I enjoyed the Big Breakfast but not the Eggs Royale - the story of the sad unpoached eggs. Customer service was a little loop sided for me - few had gleaming smiles; few had scowls. Thing is, I still can't seem to get over the sight of moisture condensation on the dessert window. Help!

  1. Presentation indeed very nice but the taste of the food is more important, for me at least :P

    1. Exactly.
They're playing the same game for the mains as they do the desserts, thats why.
