Spicy Scoops #7 | Schwarzkopf Essensity Review | CRES Wellness Regenerist Fruitti Spa Review

Wow. Just Wow. I'm back - but I still feel that I'm stuck in this dreamy holiday mood of mine. The short trip was amazingly short but of utter fulfillment in many ways. I did many new things which I didn't get to do in my previous trip to Bangkok. Henceforth, I shall put Thailand in my annual to-go list. It is, after all, my favorite country in Asia.

That - may have sounded odd, especially with many travel enthusiasts opting for the more developed Asian counterparts of Japan and Korea. And as for me, I beg to differ. I will never get bored of Thailand.

You know what - maybe I will do a blog post on my short travelling stint to Bangkok - soon.

Last week, I talked about my newly colored hair and the importance of having special care for those damaged locks. Today, I'm going to talk a bit about schwap... shwartz... swocht... shrazt... the Schwarzkopf Essensity Color & Repair range. I bet I will never - ever pronounce it right.

On a side note, I love my new black frills netting top. Part of my shopping haul from Bangkok. Clutch too.

About a fortnight ago, I got my hair colored. This is the before and after picture. Nothing drastic there as you can see.

If you'd notice from the picture, the crown of my head is a shade lighter, or maybe two, compared to the roots. Frankly, I hate it. This is my third color for this year and I still couldn't paint over my darker roots - made stubborn by a superfluous black tint in my previous dye. So much regrets. Hence, I really need the extra care that my locks has been wailing out for.

Like its green bottle - the Schwarzkopf Essensity Color and Repair range contains specific natural and organic ingredients for the nourishment of colored, damaged and chemically processed hair in need of deep regeneration.

That sounds like my hair.

The formula is free from artificial fragrances, silicone, paraffin, mineral oils and parabens - perfect for those with sensitive scalp like mine - and contains a blend of pure organic essences and natural ingredients such as promegranate, aloe vera and almond protein. It repairs, moisturize and seals the hair cuticles for superb color retention, pure softness and natural shine.

What they say:
  • 93% were overall satisfied
  • 83% experienced a new performance level
  • 92% say its gentle to the hair
  • 90% claim scalp comfort
  • 87% would recommend it

Sounds like there's hope for colored and damaged hair isn't it? I have been using the Essensity range for about a week now - the Shampoo, Conditioner, Intense mask and Protection Serum.

Here's what I think.

Schwarzkopf Essensity Shampoo (250ml/8.45oz)

What I really like about the Shampoo - the smell. Somehow or rather, the nice lemony scent was really calming to my senses and reminded of soothing massage oil.

Like many saloon range shampoos nowadays, the Essensity range is sulfate free. Meaning - it produces less lather. Hence, I would need a penny-size more of both the shampoo and conditioner for my waist-long hair. There's a hint of shea butter in the shampoo as well. Perhaps a little slimy for some, but I liked that it kept my hair smooth and slick after rinsing out.

Schwarzkopf Essensity Conditioner (200ml/6.76oz)

A silky emulsion that claims to detangle and restore color vibrancy and shine, while protecting against color fades. That said, the Conditioner was the least of my favorite - it felt extremely drying on my roots.

Schwarzkopf Essensity Intense Repair Mask (200ml/6.76oz)

That's when the rich and creamy Intense Mask comes in. I only need to use it once a week, so a tub will probably last quite long. It has a 10 minute rinsed off formula, which did a pretty good job of deeply nourishing and repairing my damaged hair. I woke up with smooth and fluffy hair the next morning.

Schwarzkopf Essensity Intense Protection Serum (200ml/6.76oz)

The Intense Protection Serum on the other hand, can be applied on toweled dried hair - after shampooing and conditioning of course. Meant to smooth-out hair lengths and protects from blow drying heat and external damage - great for someone like me who blow dries my hair every day and night. Again, I really liked the nice scent that lingered. Though I have to note that its not as powerful as some others I've used.
