Spicy-Scoops#5 | Benefit Push Up Liner Review

In the past couple of days, there were some things that I found out - which I'm not suppose to find out - that caused my Zen to shatter. I'd never once thought that I would be so disturbed by it - until then. By now, you'd probably ask, what is it?

Not something that I want to talk about, really. I think it's bad for the soul to hold back negative thoughts for too long. Smile and the world will smile back. What was this about again? =)

Happy things - I finally found the jumpsuit that opened me up to my realm of romper-sprees. You can read about that in SpicyScoops#4 and SpicyScoops#5. Inspired by Negin Mirsalehi, Love her!

My heart skipped a beat when I saw this. Hefty price tag though. Should I or should I not?

As emancipating as it may seem, I'm planning to make way for outfits that are slightly out of the norm for me - contrasting from the usual basic pieces that I have. It's a nice change really, to wear something that I don't usually do, consciously make me look forward to - shopping and going out - yeah, like that.

Like this dress.

And this skirt.

I'd love to enhance my make up routine too. Note to self - falsies will never be on top of the list. Story later.
Eyeliners on the other hand, are definitely one of my essentials. Today's review is on none other than one of my favorite make up brands - Benefit.

I first fell in love with Benefit when my best friend gifted me a box of Finding Mr.Bright as a birthday gift. I then went on to purchase Benefit Porefessional for my unusually large pores a little later after that.

Picking an eyeliner that suits you on the other hand - may be a tad tricky and there are often trade-offs. Sweat-proofed but hard to remove; draws swiftly but never reaching the lash lines.

I have incredibly oily lids. I've tried virtually everything, from pencil liners, to liquid liners and even gel liners from a pot. And more often than not - it smudges.

Eye-do today using Benefit They're Real! Push Up Eyeliner.

In 2013, Benefit launched the first of it's range They're Real! mascara. It was crowned the #1 Multi Benefit Prestige Mascara in the US and #1 Selling Prestige Makeup Item in the UK. Coming soon in June 2014, Benefit will be unveiling the They're Real! Push Up Liner!

The first of it's kind, lash hugging gel liner pen. It has an AccuFlex tip that makes it beyond easy to get close to the lash line and a waterproof formula that doesn't smudge or dry out. Now, these whopping claims must have been proven otherwise.
91% said it was long-wearing
81% said it was waterproof
88% said it hugged the lashline
84% said eyes looked visibly larger

Using this is slightly different compared to your conventional eyeliners. Firstly, remove the orange stopper from the tip. You'll notice that the AccuFlex tip has a light rubbery texture and is flexible. You really don't need the orange stopper after that, the formula won't flow out.

You would then need to twist the end (left pic) of the pen slowly, a matte black gel formula will then ooze out from the AccuFlex tip (right pic). Wipe off the excess before sliding it onto your eyelids.

The brush applicator probably requires some skill and loads of practice to apply - like all liquid and gel liners. It's a little troublesome at first no doubt, but after using this for a couple of times and noticed that it doesn't smear aplenty, even with the outdoor tropical heat, this would be a nice alternative to have in my makeup bag for awhile.

The Benefit They're Real! Push Up Eyeliner retails at Rm100.

More information of the Gel-liner Here, or watch the video Here. Thank you @BenefitCosmeticsMY for #MyRealLiner and MHB for the goodies.

Leading you back to this-topic about fake eyelashes.

While it was great to groove with lusciously long and alluring lashes, flapping away at that hunk who just waltzed pass. On second thoughts, it could just be the misery of the uncomfortable weighted eyelids that caused the continuous blinking. Seriously, fake lashes really aren't great to put on and to pry off.

I shall refrain unless absolutely necessary. The last thing on my mind was right - the fashion show. The make up and hair-do was done as part of a short runway stint I did for gogguv, an up and coming fashion label, at the 1 Heart & Hope fundraising and charity dinner.

What the holy-cow are those! Clearly, fake lashes are not my thing.

Last week, I attended the 2014 Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week in Pavillion KL, as a blogger of course. And I really enjoyed it. It was definitely one exciting and eventful day for me. After a long day's out, I am so glad that I can finally pry my heels off and wriggle my toes when I got home.

More pictures in the next write up!

I'm getting my hair colored tomorrow! Obviously looking forward to the new hairdo - though nothing drastic if I may just add. Not looking forward to the painstaking hours of back, ass and leg cramps in the hair saloon though....
