Kompassion Thai @ Damansara Kim - One Of My Favorites

One of the reasons I really enjoy Thai food is because of my love for green curry.

To me, it has to be flavorsome with just the right balance of more sweet than salty, thick but not too thick, with good enough consistency for me to slurp it all up like soup. Having chunks of toothsome and tender meat is an additional plus too. Am I asking for too much?

Kompassion

I've heard a lot about Kompassion. Good and bad. From what I was told, Kompassion has always been placed on par with the likes of My Elephant, another Thai-favorite amongst the town folks. I had a pretty satisfying meal at My Elephant not long back, hence, of course I was expecting a little bit more of my visit here today, over lunch.

For lunch, you'd be able to walk in and snag a table quite easily. They have a range of pocket-friendly set lunches available as well, with prices starting from Rm13.90. Bookings are absolutely essential for dinner however. Come early as parking is quite limited also.

Lemongrass and Ice Lemon Tea.

Pad Thai with Prawn. Rm13.90.

While I was praising the perfectly cooked noodles, my friend was raving about how it had a delicious sour twang to it. The noodles were loaded with nuts, dried shrimps, crunchy bean sprouts and topped with coriander and ebiko. Thai-fusion wise, this version was way better than the one I had at Fa Ying by Rama V.

Kompassion Stew Pork Belly with Rice. Rm18.90.

The pork stew was equally delicious. A mix of fatty and lean pork meat, drenched in a savory sauce and served with a combo of white and brown rice. I found the salad at the side to be a bit too spicy though.

Green Curry with Crispy Pork. Rm35.

Saving the best for the last, the crispy pork green curry was amazing. Fulfilling literally all my standards. My favorite part of the dish - the chunky and crackling fried pork. This picture does not justify how heavenly this dish was - seriously.

Overall Rating: 8/10. Food, customer service and dining ambiance was great. Just when I thought that I've found one of the best Thai green curry in town, at Thai Ho Chiak, I've decided to revamp my list after my Thai-tisfying meal here. I would, without a doubt revisit.

Kompassion is located at:
