My Undereye Filler Treatment @ MyClinic, Cheras

I have been a fan of MyClinic since it's humble beginnings. I vaguely remembered visiting their very first outlet, in Damansara Uptown, back in 2015. You can read my previous reviews Here and Here. They have since successfully expanded three more outlets in the Klang Valley to date.

Being one of the leading aesthetic clinic in Malaysia, MyClinic is a certified LCP clinic, meaning all aesthetic treatments are performed by certified doctors, and also an award winning one. My treatment on that day was performed by Dr. Ng Ying Ching, or Dr. YC in short.

Though being a very busy Friday afternoon, the atmosphere at MyClinic was still very comfortable, and service was friendly, as expected.

The main purpose of my visit that afternoon, was for the under-eye filler treatment, to give my then slightly sunken tear troughs a bit of volume. 

ABOUT FILLER TREATMENTS

• Fillers are made out of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the skin

• Non-invasive, safe and temporary in nature, lasting about 6 - 9 months, then eventually absorbed by the body

There are many types of dermal fillers in the market, and mine was completed using 1ml of Juvederm fillers on both side of my tear through and cheeks. Aesthetic treatments like this one, are not meant to drastically change the looks, but merely to enhance or correct certain imperfections on the face.

Before my treatment, Dr. YC explained the treatment process, as well as the to-do's and not-to-do's.

When it comes to injectables and needles, there will always be a slight prick when it hits the skin, hence to reduce the discomfort, numbing cream was applied to my under eye area for about 30 minutes. I was left to rest comfortably in the waiting room.

In my case, Dr. YC did advised that 1ml of fillers may not be enough for my under eyes and cheeks, but let's start small shall we? The treatment went well and was completed fairly quickly, within 30 minutes in total.

The filler was injected to the tear trough of my undereye area, and also a bit on my cheeks. There was a bit of subsequent redness, as I have very sensitive skin, but subsided after a soothing mask was placed at the area of redness, post injection.

I could immediately see that my tear trough area was a bit more fuller and plump, not too obvious, but subtly enhanced. The shadow under my eyes that bothers me every time I take pictures - has been flatten out and no longer as obvious as it used to be.

TIPS ON FILLER MAINTENANCE

• A bit of swelling on the injection area is common. Use ice packs to reduce the swelling in the first couple of days
• Optimum results can be seen after 2-4 weeks
• Avoid facial massage, especially on the filler area
• Avoid activities that involves excessive sweating

Strangely, my complexion and skin also felt better and glowed after the treatment. The magic of hyaluronic acid perhaps.
