Highlights : Fat Tea Macanese Food @ Damansara Perdana PJ

The Restaurant:

My continuous efforts of trying out new restaurants and cafes brought me to Fat Tea Macanese Food, a restaurant and bakery serving authentic Macao cuisine, akin to a fusion of Cantonese and Portugese dishes. The place definitely reminded me of my recent to Trip To Macao.

The Food:

Here, you would not go wrong with Minchi (RM22.00), their signature dish and also my favorite of the meal. The huge bowl of rice came with a mixture of savory minced pork (loads of it too), diced fried potatoes, onions, fried egg, rice, and pork lard. This was comfort food in all it's glory. The Portugese Chicken 'Po Kok Khai' (RM25.00) tasted very much like our Malaysian ayam masak lemak, a coconut milk baked chicken in tumeric and spices, served with rice, minus the spiciness of course. It was quite a hearty serving needless to say. The Beef Brisket & Tendon Spiced Stew (RM28.00) felt like comfort food, the beef was made flavorful and tender, and I mopped every bit of sauce up with Toasted Bread (+RM3.00). Delicious. I'd highly-highly recommend the Serradurra (RM12.00 - small / RM16.00 - medium / RM18.00 - large) for dessert. It was easily one of the best desserts I've had of late. Known as sawdust or Macao pudding, a simple combination of whipped cream and crumled biscuits, or what I felt was like a tiramisu minus the coffee and cake.

Overall Rating: 8.5/10.

For the hard-to-find Macanese restaurant in PJ/KL (leave a comment if you know of any others) ; For the amazing food ; For the fantastic hospitality and the cozy environment. Nothing fancy-pancy here, but you'd definitely get to go home with a happier and bigger tummy.
