Was My High Tea Experience At Nobu KL Worth It?

Last weekend, I visited Nobu Kuala Lumpur, and sampled some of their exquisite High Tea offerings, alongside the spectacular skyline view. It was also my first time stepping into the restaurant, after the hype and the gravity which came to light, when it first opened in 2015. I have been admittedly slow to catchup nowadays.

The High Tea experience is available on weekends only, from 1pm to 4pm.

There are two High Tea Sets in Nobu KL's menu. The Hanami High Tea Set (RM148.00) and Signature High Tea Set (RM98.00). The former was savory; the latter was sweet, and both comes with refillable green tea. Although the savory set appeared to be more expensive than the sweet set, it came decked with twice the portion of petite Japanese canapes.

I'd very much preferred the savory set compared to the sweet, notably on it's tastefully curated hot and cold canapes, that I thought had a great balance of Japanese and fusion flavors and texture, and which I relished on every bite. It felt Japanese but not too Japanese. Perhaps it was also my penchant towards everything-savory.

On that note, I ordered 1 serving of Hanami High Tea Set (savory) and 1 serving of Signature High Tea Set (sweet). And no, this was not a sponsored review.

Naturally, the savory high tea set was served first.

The list of canapes progressively changes, as time goes along, so there's always something new, everytime. The ingredient of each canape was explained when served, though me-being-me, I lost track of what was being said, but was too focused on digging-in instead. I shall pay more attention next time.

While waiting for the sweet high tea set to be served next, I sipped on hot green tea, and my friend admired the skyline view that the restaurant offered, from the 56th floor. Dining here, was really mostly about the parading skyline view.

Overall Rating: 7.5/10. The worth it winner for me - the Hanami High Tea Set, which I'd happily return for. Not wanting to leave just yet, I dropped by Marini's at 57 for a sip of cocktail after that.
