Eung Chicken @ Damansara Uptown PJ - The Neighbourhood Korean Fried Chicken [CLOSED]

Finally. A Korean fried chicken restaurant, situated in the heart of Damansara Uptown, that is worthy of revisiting.

Not to be mistaken as Fung Chicken (the signboard could be a little deceiving at a glance), newly opened Eung Chicken, pronounced as 'yeung', specializes in none other than one of my favorite food around - Korean Fried Chicken.

Eung Chicken's menu is rather simple. Wings or Drumette, with a choice of two flavors - Soy or Spicy, Crunchy Fried Chicken, and Ramyeon.

The menu may be small for now, but they are looking into having an inclusion of other Korean dishes like bibimbap and chicken skin, and yes - you read right, artery-clogging chicken skin.

I had 20 pieces (RM50.00) of 10 soy-flavored and 10 spicy-flavored chicken, wings and drumette.

What I really liked about the chicken - the batter was not as thick and overwhelmingly sweet compared to some others that I've had, which was great, because it could get really cloying after awhile. Plus, the crispness and flavors were on point. It was finger licking delicious.

Sadly, the Korean fried chicken is only available in wings and drumette option. No drumstick for me. My recommendation? Go for the soy-flavored chicken, unless you have a tongue for fieriness.

For a savory touch, I had Half a Crunchy Fried Chicken (RM27.00) to share, though I bet I can finish this all on my own, it had a fantastic crunch to it. The tender pieces of chicken came sprinkled and marinated with herbs and spices.

The Chicken Fingers (RM13.00) came with four boneless chicken tenders and fries. I'd very much preferred my Korean fried chicken however.

For a no-meat option, the bowl of Ramyeon Soup (RM16.00) had ramyeon and a slice of melted cheese at the center. It was simple and a tad fiery. There is also a dry version available. With a penny more, order the Ramyeon Set (RM18.90), with an added piece of Korean fried chicken at the side.

I stuffed myself full that evening, and would definitely return for more. Who can say no to fried chicken, let alone Korean fried chicken?

If you're looking for a decent neighbourhood Korean Fried Chicken restaurant to dine at, Eung Chicken would be a good pick. Thank you having me.
