Day 3..... Fun Times! 

Our first activity of Day 3 - shopping for potato chips.

Potato chips makes me happy. For real.

While having street food is a compulsary activity for most tourist, shopping at Big C, felt more like one to me (similar reads on Lotte Mart In Korea). Our trip to the supermarket didn't take long however.

I'm sure this is not the first time you're seeing this pose.

Feeling ravenous after all that shopping, we went straight to The Garden Of TFEST (TGIF), conveniently accessible via train, about 5 minutes walk from BTS Thonglor (Exit 2).

This pop-up gourmet food market runs 3 days a week - Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 3pm-11pm. Prices ranged from THB50 for a lemonade to THB100 for a bacon and nachos platter.

Despite the intermittent drizzling skies and the one buzzing housefly that doesn't seem to go away (irritating as such), I had loads of fun stall hopping, sampling some really good food along the way. Needless to say, this was one of the most anticipated part of the trip for me, and it'd definitely did not disappoint.

It was about 5pm when we left TFEST for Asiatique The Riverfront. 

All sticky and sweaty from our outdoor food rendezvous, we took a 30 minute uber ride from Thonglor to Asiatique, which also happened to be the most expensive uber ride in this trip (approximately THB300 including toll fare).

How to get to Asiatique by BTS: BTS Siam Station (6 stops) > BTS Saphan Taksin > Ferry (Free) 

Just A Tip: Uber/Cab there and Ferry back. If you're planning on taking the free ferry to Asiatique during peak hours, notably from 6pm - 9pm, I'd highly advised against it. The 2 hour long queue (or more?) at the jetty, would clearly be a mood spoiler and not to mention, a drastic waste of time. I would suggest taking a taxi or uber to the venue. However if you'd still like to experience taking the ferry along Chao Phrya river, travelling back from Asiatique to BTS Saphan Taksin Station would be a breeze. 

   

We had dinner at Rocking Doll, an apparent favorite in the Asiatique food court. Verdict: Passable.

It was nightfall by the time we were done with dinner, at slightly pass 8pm. We strolled around a bit more before deciding to take the ferry back to town.

"Whether it rains or not, I will be dancing in the rain tonight," I boasted to my friends. Thankfully for me, weather was on my side.

Route 66 at RCA have got to be one of the best and most happening clubs in Bangkok. The club have 4 main sections - Live Band, R&B, House and an Outdoor Bar. There's even a live band playing inside the ladies washroom! From the number of new friends we met that night, I reckoned tourists outnumbered locals, 9 to 1. Cover charge was THB300, including THB300 worth of drinks.

The crowd was on jolly holiday mood, unpretentious and somewhat tipsy.

I don't remember having this much fun for the longest time!

It was around 3am when we finally got back to the hotel (our uber driver had a tough time looking for us!) and slightly over 3.30am when I started dreaming about unicorns.

Day 4..... Time To Say Goodbye. 

Clearly, neither of us had enough sleep the night before, but we still managed to crawl out of bed at 9am (that's me at least). I think my mind was subconciously tuned to telling me to not waste my last few hours in Bangkok. Afterall, it was our last day here afterall.

Today's agenda was free and easy, hence no rushing around, and just buoyantly roam around Siam, in search for more good food.

They say, Japanese food is a must-have in Bangkok. Today's lunch was at Aoi Japanese Restaurant, inside Siam Paragon.

Food was served in closed containers here, so be prepared to be surprise! It's like opening presents!

All this sushi goodness makes me so contented, and what more being our last meal in Bangkok! We were stuffed and satisfied by the time we were done.

We went for desserts after that, at Seobinggo, opposite of Siam Square 1, which also came highly recommended by a friend.

That evening, we arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport slightly earlier than planned, with plenty of time to spare before departure. Our flight time was at 8pm.

We went window-shopping at the duty free outlets after that, but realised that prices was not cheap for the time being due to exchange rate differentials.

We were the first to arrive at the boarding gate, and decided to sit facing the windows, stoned and probably drained from the lack of sleep in the past couple of days, witnessed the sunset, and talked about some of the best parts of our trip. And as for me, I would be the food at TFEST and the nightout at Route66.

Before we knew it, it was time to say good bye.
