Spitalfield's Gastrobar @ Atria PJ - Heaven In The Mouth.

Sunday Afternoon Roast. That's, exactly what I had just last weekend.

To be honest, I've never paid much attention to Spitalfield's. The bright Pizzolo signboard smacked right next door have always looked much more striking compared to the former.

Nevertheless, Spitalfield's Gastrobar carries a Western menu and is famous for it's mouthwatering pork ribs and roast pork.

That Sunday, I sampled some of their brunch and breakfast goodies, that is only available on weekends and public holidays, between 11am - 3pm.

By the time I got there, I was starving. There were two of us and we ordered three mains to share. Let's do this!

Heaven in the mouth! The Ugly Burger Steak (Rm24) goes into my category of must try burgers list. The beef patty was juicy and luscious, added with streaks of bacon in between, sandwiched between fluffy buns. The fries were made from chopped potatoes and seasoned to perfection - I can have that anytime. Remember to slather on the mushroom gravy and sour cream at the side, to complete the flavors on the plate.
This was so simply yet so good. Brits & Friends (Rm19) came in a pan - two pipping hot and incredibly juicy english sausages, deliciously sauteed peppers, mushroom, onions and french toast on the board. I wouldn't mind having this for breakfast everyday. At the side, Mint Tea (Rm13.90) and Berries & Cherries (Rm13.90).
Now, for those who are squirmish with fat, this dish is not for you. For those who aren't, this Slow Roast Pork Loin (Rm45) would make a glorious weekend treat. There was more fat than meat (aiks!), but the best part for me would be the addictive crackle from the pork skin. The condiments complimented the dish - yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and vegetables.

Overall Rating: 8/10. If I were to pick a place for brunch in Atria, I would choose Spitalfield's over the much more popular Antipodean, located just foot steps away. This place would have to be one of the better brunch hotspot I've stumble upon of late, though what I thought they were seriously lacking in - buzz. For me, the food was good, the environment relaxed and the service attentive. As of now, I can't comment on the dinner menu, since I have not had any yet. On a side note, you may also want to read about my visit to Manmaru Robatayaki, one of my favorite places to eat in Atria.
