Steaks & Lobsters New Menu @ Sri Hartamas KL - Bigger And Better.

I think I've found my favorite steak and lobster place. Where else can you get the best of both worlds?

Steaks & Lobsters

In the past year or so, we saw the blossoming of new lobster restaurants, all attempting to make a clawing mark in the Klang Valley.

One of my favorites would be Steaks & Lobsters, which I've been to twice and now recommend to my friends without hesitation. Like the name suggests, the restaurant would not only make a fantastic joint for lobsters but also cleverly cater to those who crave meat. Best of all, its casual and no frills!

Rather than having the same old dishes that I candidly fell in love with in my previous visit, this time round, I will be sampling some new dishes, all in which will be launched sometime in mid-December.

Part of its new menu is this Weekday Promotion. Banner below.

For the rest of their new menu, expect splashes of truffle infused dishes and a handful of vibrant appetizers. Perhaps its my carnivorous eating habits or my inclination towards the crustacean kind, I wanted to try everything out. I mean - I was dying to try everything out.

Let me tell you this - these samplers are not easy to photograph, though it did look pretty awesome on its own.

The Signature Grilled Baby Lobster (Rm28) was delicious, complimented with a drizzle of sriracha sauce. The Chili Minced Steak Potato Skins (Rm29) too had toothsome textures, laden with savory diced wagyu. I didn't get to sample the Sweet Barbecue Chicken Wings (Rm25) however, it was snagged up in seconds!

My personal favorite however, would be the S&L Famous Portobello Fries (Rm19). It came beautifully battered and lined with homemade sriracha aioli sauce. All mine!

We also shared a hot plate of Garlic Herb Lemon Mussels (Rm24).

Before we knew it, three gigantic 800gm lobsters were placed before our eyes. We were all salivating in hunger.

The Signature Flaming American Lobster (Rm110/Rm205) was my undying favorite, flamed with homemade aoili and topped with addictive roe. The glaze was buttery and sweet, served with lemon bernaise sauce at the side. For those who're opting for natural crustacean flavors, the Grilled American Lobster (Rm98/Rm195) would be your pick. Again, all sides and sauces are refillable.

A new addition in their menu, Kaffir And Lemongrass Roasted American Lobster (Rm98/195). This one had an interesting blend of spices with distinct traces of lemongrass flavors. Order if you enjoy the percik!

Meat lovers - this place would be your wonderland. The 300gm Wagyu Round Sirloin (Rm88) was marvelous - perfectly cooked to medium and had wonderful meaty flavors.

If you'd liked something a little more loaded in taste, try the Truffle Fromage Ribeye (Rm75), topped with melted cheese and sprinkles of truffle. The BOC Ribeye (Rm68) - Bacon, Onion ragu and Cheese - was strangely sweet yet savory, though surprisingly enjoyable at the same time. I really couldn't decide which I liked the most.

The Truffle Mushroom Pasta (Rm32) was easily one of my top picks. It came with bursty pops of French black truffle, fused with shimeiji, portobello and white mushrooms, on a creamy sauce base. At the side, Lobster Pesto Pasta (Rm42).

Some of us enjoyed the lamb; some didn't quite. Some felt that it was salty; some felt that it tasted just fine. For me, the Air Flown New Zealand Lamb Loins (Rm42) tasted alright, pehaps a little on the saltier side but overall, fairly well done. I have to add that I'm not a huge fan of lamb however.

The Pan-Roasted Duo Stuffed Chicken Mushroom Roulade (Rm29) came in the form of a roasted chicken wrap, stuffed with portobello strips, mixed mushroom ragu and cheddar cheese fillings.

After all I had, I have to admit, this one-toned Barramundi Fish And Chips (Rm37) didn't looked quite as vibrant compared to the rest. That said, the flesh was moist and nicely flaked. Extra seasoning?

8 sticks of S&L Spanish Churros (Rm18) doused in chocolate and caramel sauce, sprinkled with cinammon sugar and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The churros was more crunchy than fluffy, buttery and caramelised. A little too sweet for my liking but where else can you get good churros?

They are pretty big on their milkshakes too. We sampled the Quaker (Rm15.90) - french vanilla ice cream blended with duck bacon ice cream - also my favorite, the Mancado (Rm15.90) - special blend of fresh avocado and mango and Mocking The Mocha (Rm15.90) - a mocha infused milkshake.

Overall Rating: 8/10. The feast I had that evening was scrumptious and clearly satisfactory. There were plenty of good food to go around and even before we reached dessert, we were stuffed full already. If you're looking for a Western-styled lobster restaurant or a halal steak restaurant in KL/PJ, I promise you, Steaks & Lobsters will not dissappoint. By the time I got home, I immediately eased into a food coma - my 15 year old bed couldn't have looked any better.
