Brewyard @ SS15 Subang Jaya - Salted Egg And Prawn Pasta

After a streak of bland porridge and stale bread, I'm glad that I've fully recovered and let me tell you this - it feels great to be able to eat whatever I want now! Waffles anyone?

Brewyard

At slightly pass 7pm on a Saturday evening, I stepped into Brewyard, a cafe which I thought would make a perfect venue for desserts - coffee and cakes, but not particularly so for dinner. Apart from one other table, the place was virtually empty at that time. And as expected, the walk-ins only hustled through later, after dinner I presumed.

That evening however, I was there to sample some of Brewyard's signature desserts as well as main dishes - yes you heard me right. It didn't take long for us to polish-up their Salted Egg and Prawn Pasta!

The Toasty Four. Rm22.

Looking for a snack to share? This foursome of bruschetta would do you well. Garlic herbed chicken, Mushroom cream, Smoked salmon, Banana and peanut butter strawberry jam.

Smoked Salmon Pizza. Rm22.

I wasn't a huge fan of this. The pizza base didn't have that crustiness I was hoping for and the toppings lacked seasoning. Tweak: Seasoned Korean seaweed could be a better option and salt and pepper please!

The Majesty. Rm19.

A dish that I'd definitely return for - spaghetti with salted egg cream and prawns, chili padi and fragrant curry leaves. It had nicely balanced flavors and textures with an addictive sweetness to it. Who can resist?

Sugar Momma. Rm16.

It's all about the thick toast hype! This one however, didn't exactly work for me, probably from the clashing combo of cinammon sprinkles on peanut butter spread. If I were to pick, I would definitely chose the latter.

B.Y Waffle. Rm16.

Great toasted waffles that had an irresistable crispness to it. Nutella ice cream? Yes please!

Chocolate Brownie. Rm13.

Tip: Eat it while it's still warm! Else you would miss the oozing chocolate in between!

Overall Rating: 7/10. If you're looking for something substantial which you can nibble on over that cuppa of yours, go for The Majesty, B.Y Waffles and Chocolate Brownie, those were the highlights of my meal. The rest of the dishes I sampled were decent but easily forgettable.
