Yellow Brick Road Cafe @ Damansara Heights - Marvelous Food

Today's Saturday brunch outing brought me to the much raved about Yellow Brick Road cafe.

Tip: Excuse the ticketed parking area inside and park along the roads instead. It's merely foot steps away and most importantly, free! Parking inside costs RM2/hour, a pretty hefty price to pay for being lazy if you'd ask me.

Yellow Brick Road

Yellow Brick Road opened its doors about a few months back, helm by the successful bunch behind the Red Bean Bag @ Publika, one of my all time favorite brunch spot in town. All hail the beanbag! How did the Brick Road fair however?

Waiting for a table is a norm here, expect to be seated within 30 minutes.

Yellow Brick Road Menu & Prices.

Please - if possible, request for a table - away from these flowers!

There were so many flies buzzing around, it was insanely distracting! It felt as though I was at a hawker center at one point, not attempting to sound overly crude here. With all honesty, the flowers need to go.

Minty Lemonade. Rm11.

I don't know what ganja-concoction they put in this, but it was one of the best lemonade I've had in awhile. A thirst quencher this one!

 Eggs Norwegian. Rm25.

Smoked salmon, potato rosti, avocado slices and poached eggs - ain't that combination a winner already?

The Big Breakfast Bash. Rm30.

What a huge pan of breakfast! The rockstar for me would have to be the strips of addictive beef bacon, the nicely roasted sweet potatoes and the sauteed mushrooms. Those were delectable!

I Wanna Be Kaya. Rm22.

Ending our meal on a sweet note and with a twist. French toast with poached pear, mascarpone cheese and caramel kaya sauce - which I didn't quite fancy, the mixture tasted too sweet and rich.

Overall Rating: 8/10. Marvelous food and exciting brunch menu - they've got the key elements done right. Though they are still relatively new, customer service was good, everything seemed very well coordinated. The only flaw for me would be the insanely distracting fly-attracting flowers. On a side note, if I was given the chance to pick, I would steer clear of the shared round table at the center of the room. It felt a little awkward dining with pairs of other strangers - at least it did to me.
