Spicy Scoops#9 | Regen Synergy Mask Review | Frank Salon Bangsar Review

I feel like talking today.

The past month has been quite a hectic month at work for me - something not entirely new in this blog, but often an explicit enough reason to make anyone dissent, especially when it comes to juggling between a hobby and a full time job.

People often asked me, "where do you find time to blog?". Simple. Really. For me, blogging is like a hobby that I silently find relaxing, non-obliging and a cordial interest to fill in those time-gaps. Unless its an assignment of course. Hoping that it would eventually reap-in some rewards towards the end of the day. I have to admit though, it takes some degree of flair to write, without having to re-read and edit for at least a thousandth time.

Now, I havn't been blogging for that long - but long enough to take note of, based on the subtle exchanges I've had between bloggers. Meeting new friends is something that I've always enjoyed - something that I really should be doing more.

What is mind boggling to me though, are people who blog but don't like blogging, for reasons that I will never be able to decipher.

As much as the added perks are concerned - there should be some degree of effort and some sense of enjoyment in doing it. Be it the joyfulness of making new friends, sampling new products, the mere fulfillment of taking a good picture, or perhaps, put bluntly - the popularity that comes with having a public domain.

If it's all because of the free stuff, then I'm sorry - I feel very sad for you. Attending a media event just for the sake of it, being anti-social with no intention to mingle whatsoever, possibly for a product which probably isn't worth much or a complimentary meal that can be bought with ten bucks. Then, coming home and penning down a few liners and publishing some poorly taken shots and yet still grumble about it.

I don't get it.

I'm sure there must be something else worth doing much more than that right? Like visiting the local supermarket for free samples?

Oh. Believe me. These categories of bloggers do exist and I find them exceptionally ignorant. Then again, none of my business really, I'm just inclined to share.

End of rambling. Now, I want to talk about happy stuff. Picture taken at Mad About Coco.

My friend once said to me, "Just by looking at your face, I would've thought that you were really fat".

When I was younger, they told me that it was just baby fat and that I would outgrow it along the way. Unfortunately for me - it did not. Henceforth, the nickname chubby-cheeks have been living prosperously till today.

Over the years, I've tried a handful of things - things that are highly temporary in nature. From face-lifting facials, chin fillers and of course facial massages that I once religiously practiced.

When I heard about Regen Synergy 2 Step Effect Mask and the miracles that come with it, I couldn't wait to give it a go. Who better to do a review of it than me?

Regen is one of Korea's Top Beauty Medical Group and Brand, which also carries a range of cosmetic products.

The Regen 2 Step Synergy Effect Mask comes in 4 series - Moisturizing, Pore, Whitening and Anti-Wrinkle. The masks are free of alcohol, coloring, mineral oil and preservatives

Each pack has Two parts - a cotton mask for the Upper face and a fabric-like mask for the Lower face. Each part have dissimilar ingredients meant to serve separate functions.

Follow the steps - upper face first then lower face. There were so much of essence in the packet - it was literally dripping everywhere. Try not to waste!

The lower part of mask has a transparent plastic attached. Remove it. The outer part is made out of fabric, and the inner part is sticky but dry.

This is my first time attempting a two part mask!

Throughout the 30 minutes, I felt an itchy-tightening sensation on the lower half of my face, from the use of the fabric mask. When I tore it out, my double chin did looked somewhat-lightly lifted.

My favorite mask would have to be the Moisturizing Care Mask. If there's one mask that could cater to all needs and skin types - it would have to be this one. Filled with hyaluronic acid to lock in moisture and to improve skin texture, my face looked noticeably dewier and less-bloated after that.

Exclusively from Hermo Malaysia only. Toggle over to Hermo's Website to purchase - Priced at Rm17.90/piece and Rm82.50/box of 5. Thank you Hermo and MHB for the goodies.

Feeling fabulous, I hopped on the bandwagon and drove to Bangsar.

Today's review brought me to Frank Salon. Located inside Nexus, Bangsar South. Parking is still free at the moment.

Like the name suggests, Frank Salon is owned and run by none other than Frank himself.

I always feel more at eased, going to a Hair Salon and knowing that the owner himself (or herself) is present as the creative director. A trillion times better than going to a commercialized salon run by junior and senior stylists.

Frank Salon carries the Milbon product range (Just FYI: number76 uses this too). Milbon is a Japanese brand, and everyone knows that Japanese beauty and hair care products are one of the best in the world right?

Expect to see loads of pretty pinks and baby blues everywhere. Some of its products have a nice strawberry scent to it. Girls would love this!

My hair grows exceptionally fast. I typically need re-coloring every 2-3 months to get rid of my unsightly black roots. Hence today, I decided with the usual, Color + Treatment + Cut + Blow Dry.

Say Hi to Frank!

I do not fancy spending a whole lot of time at the hair saloon - I'm sure many of you would've agreed.

I find it particularly mundane, just sitting there, flipping through expired magazines that I'm not even interested in, and at the same time, draining out my entire phone battery capacity - just to entertain myself. I have the dying urge to wiggle around and can't exactly spend hours glued stagnant on a seat. Plus, the smell of chemicals ain't that pleasant either.

Beauty always come with a price.

Today, I spend a good 4 hours at the hair salon. It rained and shined; then rained and shined - again.

No doubt it took longer than anticipated, but I was very happy with the outcome. Especially with the color - I love the purple-brown tone of my new hair. It came out exactly the way I wanted it.

Frank was telling me that I would look great with wavy hair. Apart from temporary curls, I have never attempted that before. Perhaps it will make my round face look, well - less round? What do you think?

Thank you Frank for the fantastic hair-do. Follow Frank at @franksalon or like Frank Salon's Facebook Page.
