Jibby & Co @ Empire Shopping Gallery Subang Jaya

The sweltering heat almost got me wandering back into the mall. There was a queue. In fact, there's always a queue. And it almost always spills out to the roads!

Jibby & Co.

Jibby & Co. is situated right at the entrance of Empire Shopping Gallery - not to be mistaken with Empire Damansara however.

The location was undeniably prime, but the place had a charm of its own, made glaring from the two storey tall glass ceiling, exposed metal pipelines and rustic interior. When night falls, I'm sure the place would lit up like a power house. That said, who came up with the idea of having a huge plant smacked right in the middle of the room?

Coming from inside the mall, you'd probably notice Tous Les Jours first.

Also sharing some beauty excitements - I just received a series of Regen's 2-step Synergy Mask from Hermo. It claims to do wonders on getting rid of double chin - I really need this. Can't wait to do a review soon!

Despite the queue, it didn't take long for us to be seated, about 15 to 20 minutes tops. Throughout the wait, the waiters to serve us with chilled watermelon and persuasively apologized. I nice and friendly-touch to add.

Zoom in for Jibby & Co's Full Menu.

Flat White. Rm11.

Lychee Mint. Rm15.

I wanted something lemony to quench my thirst that afternoon. This lychee, watermelon, lime and mint leaves mocktail didn't exactly do the trick, but I finished it anyway.

Soft Shell Crab Burger On Broiche. Rm32.

An impressively large soft shell crab on a bed of Asian coleslaw, layered with spicy mayonnaise and between a sweet broiche bun. The combination was pretty good but - it was not spectacular. Maybe a little tongue-waggingly spicy for some too. We really enjoyed the sweet potato fries too. Couldn't get enough of that!

Kick Azz French Toast. Rm25.

This creme pattisere came with mixed berries, drizzled with maple glaze, crushed pistachio and honey cornflakes. The kind of sweet breakfast treat that I would usually enjoy. However, this was the least of my favorite. The french toast was a little too bread-like and perhaps a tad dry for my liking - not that kickazz after all.

Shredded Duck. Rm29.

The Star of my meal would have to be this - tender and flavorful shreds of duck meat with semi-sundried tomatoes, made fragrant with an aglio e olio version of a linguine. I would definitely recommend.

Overall Rating: 7.5/10. Price wise: Food here probably cost a penny or two more than the usual. Presentation wise: Fantastic. The dishes looked appetizing at hindsight and I couldn't wait to dig in. Taste wise: Good. Ambiance wise: They have got some pretty cool concept going - when people start picking up their phones and taking photographs of the room - you know you've done something right.
