Ooi Noodle House (Pomander) @ SS15 Subang Jaya

From 11.30am to 12.30pm to 1.30pm, finally I left home and head to SS15 for some food escapades for the weekend.

Ooi Noodle House (Pomander)

Touted as one of the Best Pork Noodles in town, Ooi Noodle House needs no introduction. Formally known as Pomander, this place has been around for quite awhile and is exceptionally popular among the Subang youngsters.

It took us awhile and a bit of walking under the scorching before we found this restaurant. Not that it was difficult to locate though but the last time I googled Best Pork Noodles, Pomander came up but little did I know, there was a name change in 2011 to Ooi Noodle House. Situated right behind Taylors Business School and right in front of Foh Foh Restaurant, you will not miss Ooi Noodle House.

The restaurant is in a confined, air conditioned area but the so-called 'kitchen area' is outdoors. The place can comfortably fit 20 tables and theres another 5 tables outdoors.

'Uncle' at work.

Waiting time was a staggering 45 minutes. Despite being a norm in this restaurant, I was sadly on the brim of starvation already. So, I was forced to gorge on our drinks.

Ice Barley. Rm1.60/cup.

Sour Plum with Lime. Rm2.80.

I think the last time I waited that long (well 90 minutes to be exact) was at My Burger Lab. Good stuff are always hard to get they say.

After what seemed like forever, our pork noodles finally arrived.

Pork Noodles. Rm6.80 (S) Rm7.80 (L). +Rm1 for add. egg.

At first sight, it looked real apetizing. The broth was pipping hot when it was served and there were generous mix of pork liver, intestine, minced meat, fried pork shallots and not fogetting the kiew tiaw noodles that I opt for and a half boil egg.

I first had a sip of the broth, it was rich, sweet, savoury and utterly tantalizing to the tastebuds in all ways. I then went on to have a scoop of the noodles before devouring on some of the pork mix. The minced pork was surprisingly tender and not too chewy yet bursting with flavors. Like any other pork organs, the liver and the intestine had a distinct taste it but the combination of it and the sweetness of the broth made it very delectable.

By the way, my portion was +2 'ka liu'. My friends are not big fans of organs and intestines and I shall never let it go to waste.

Overall Rating: 8/10. I can fairly say that this is one of the most delicious pork noodles I've had in awhile and for the price I paid for, it was definitely worth the wait.

Ooi Pork Noodles is located at:

However after an hour wait we realise they were serving to ppl that came later then us. When we ask the serving lady and the owner.
They reply us very rudely you either wait or u can go.
