Neo Tamarind
Part of the Samadhi Group and parcel of Tamarind Hills, NEO Tamarind is best described as 'the new zen'. Serving Modern Thai cuisine, I was absolutely famished when I got there and was very eager to dig in.
The interior décor was utterly impressive. It was tranquil yet elegant, with hypnotic liquid walls, a colossal chandelier, a galactic bar and not forgetting a chic yet cosy lounge to boost.
I was very much enchanted by the recherché waterfall display in the backdrop.
We were seated at a private lounge area, which always make me feel more special, private and cosy; not forgetting the view overlooking of KL's bustling nightlife. Although the area was not confined, I have to admit that after awhile it got a little stuffy. The place was also dimly lit to the extend that I had to squint at the menu. That said, it was unequivocally an experience for the romantics.
Roasted Salmon. Rm50++.
Tuna Risotto. Rm55++.
The Tuna on the other hand, was seared very quickly on the outside and served completely raw in the middle. Brushed with a thin layer of oil and lightly seasoned, it was smooth and flavourful without having much of a fishy aftertaste. The risotto was equally delicious and had an excellent consistency.
Prawn Risotto. Rm52++.
The prawns were succulent, firm and grilled to perfection. Accompanied by a portion of risotto and yam crisp, this was a simple yet spectacular combination packed with flavour and texture.
Miso Tom Yum. Rm25++.
The Miso Tom Yum soup came as a bit of a twist for me. Tom Yum typically has very distinct and popping flavours but miso on the other hand, is very mild and subtle. This dish is like a less spicy, sour and sweet version of a typical bowl of Tom Yum. I was quite intrigued but not entirely in awe.
Cherry Bang Bang. Rm17++.
This cherry base mocktail was zesty and quite a refreshing treat for an after dinner drink.
Cappuccino. Rm14++.
I always have a habit to end my dinner with a cup of warmly brewed coffee.
And a couple of pictures of me and company.
