Sitka Restaurant @ Damansara Heights - Steamed Bao Soft Shell Crab!

Kick-starting my scorching weekend - short photoshoot with a Chinese press (will tell you more about that when its published) and a pleasurable lunch at Sitka.

Sitka

There's just something about steamed buns that doesn't ceased to capture my attention. Maybe its my undying love for char siew bao. Nevertheless, what attracted me to Sitka was none other than their steamed baos as well as their soft tacos, also one of my favorites.

No signboard, located right next to Torii and the bustling Yellow Brick Road and Wicked Pancake Parlour.

Sitka Menu and Prices.

Homemade Lime Ice Tea. Rm10.

Soft Beef Tacos. Rm25.

"The beef is fantastic," I said on my very first mouthful. The shreds of gochujang braised beef brisket had sweet and spicy flavors, weaved with green chili, shallots and feta cheese.

Soft Shell Crab Steamed Bao. Rm23.

Sprinkles of herbs on a non-oily soft shell crab, between a wonderfully soft steamed bun. My love for bao may have influenced my biased verdict but this was also quite good. But one bao only?

Banana Vanilla Cream Pie. Rm14.

The mille crepe had fantastic textures - perfect balance of cream and crepe with a layer of caramelised banana in between.

Overall Rating: 7.5/10. My meal here today was smashing. The soft shell crab steamed bao was delectable but hitting the spot was the shredded beef taco, love it! Having said that, I thought the portion served was ridiculously miniscule - in other words, it felt expensive. Notwithstanding, the breakfast menu runs from 9am to 11am - who wakes up so early on weekends nowadays? What I had today was part of their all-day menu. Despite the hefty price tag, I may return for their lobster roll one fine day.

Sitka is located at:

  1. Only one bao per serving? That's too small for that price!
